A New Zealand first and now available nationally, The Christchurch Press, part of the Fairfax Group, lead the way in 2006 with the installation at Christchurch International Airport, of two fully automatic News Vendors by Adimac of Italy, supplied, installed and maintained by General Vending NZ Limited.

This was a highly innovative and popular move by "The Press". These machines are located in the Air New Zealand and Qantas departure lounge areas providing a handy last minute point for air travellers to get their daily edition of The Press prior to boarding.

A further machine was also installed in 2007 at 'The Crossing' above the Bus Xchange off Colombo Street in the Christchurch CBD. Click on the image above to enlarge.

Further installations are under consideration by "The Press" management as these stylish machines, developed for the UK and European markets, bring a level of sophistication and security not previously seen in New Zealand.
